Q. How often will I be home? A. Over 60 percent of our drivers are home on a daily basis. Home time is directly related to the customer account you are assigned to serve. Many drivers are home multiple times during the week while a few are out for up to five days at a time. Back to top
Q. What product will I haul? A. That depends on the dedicated fleets in your area. We have over 100 fleets nationwide and we move a variety of products in reefer, dry van, flatbed, dry bulk, and liquid bulk trailers.

Q. Where will I need to go for my orientation? A. Orientations are conducted at the local terminal where you will be based and are tailored specifically for that fleet. There is no need to travel to a regional or corporate office for training.

Q. How much driver turnover do you have at Ruan? A. We are proud to say that we have one of the lowest turnover rates in the industry! Our turnover rates are five times below the industry average. Since we have some of the best jobs in the industry, we can hire the best drivers.

Q. Will I have a dedicated route? A. At some locations, yes. Most operations are dedicated to one customer or to one product type and provide delivery to a fixed number of local or regional locations.

Q. How do you determine driver pay? A. Unlike most transportation companies, we provide a customized pay package for each of our locations. This allows us to properly reward our drivers based on the customer, product type, and other variables.

Q. Can I park the truck at home? A. We prefer to domicile the equipment at our secure facilities.

Q. Will I need to take another physical and drug test? A. We will accept your current, valid DOT physical as long as it doesn’t expire within two months of your first day of work for Ruan (you must provide long form and wallet card). If a physical exam is required, Ruan will pay for it. All approved candidates will need to pass a drug test prior to beginning employment.
