John Ruan had to sell the family vehicle to buy his first used truck in 1932  to begin hauling coal for local customers. He found that a focus on the needs of his customers allowed him to provide a higher level of service than his competitors. A tradition was born.

This early work ethic and dedication to customer service created the Ruan spirit - a spirit that has lead to the development of what is now one of the largest privately-owned transportation companies in the United States.

Today, headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, Ruan has over 100 locations nationwide where our drivers, mechanics and office staff provide the industry's most dedicated transportation service.
