BRAVO GREATER DES MOINES TO HONOR JOHN RUAN FAMILY AT THE SIXTH ANNUAL BRAVO AWARDS GALA
DES MOINES, IA - The John Ruan Family will be presented the Bravo Award at Bravo Greater Des Moines' sixth annual Awards Gala on Saturday, February 5, at Hy-Vee Hall in downtown Des Moines.
The Bravo Award recognizes a company, individual, or family that has made a significant contribution to arts and culture in Greater Des Moines. The annual Awards Gala celebrates the honoree as well as the community's arts and cultural organizations and programs.
"We are thrilled to honor the Ruan Family at this year's Bravo Awards Gala, the Greater Des Moines area's annual celebration of arts and culture that has become the party of the year, " said Brian Laurenzo, Board President of Bravo Greater Des Moines. "The Ruans have been a pillar in our community for decades and their commitment to the Greater Des Moines area's arts and cultural organizations is impactful and instrumental to our quality of life."
The Bravo Award has been presented annually since 2006 when the first Bravo Awards Gala was held. Past recipients of the Bravo Award include: Myron & Jackie Blank Family (2006), David & Liz Kruidenier (2007), John & Mary Pappajohn (2008), Richard & Jeanne Levitt and Maddie Levitt (2009), and Barry & Michele Griswell (2010).
The theme of this year's Bravo Awards Gala is "Bright Lights, Big City" and will feature the Ken Arlen Orchestra as well as performances and artistic works by Des Moines-area organizations and artists. Chairpersons of the event are Cara Heiden of Wells Fargo and Chris Littlefield of Aviva USA.
