2014 Open enrollment

Updated benefits materials are now available under the Benefit Plans tab for you to review. Open Enrollment is your opportunity to elect your 2014 benefits package, including:
- Re-elect non-smoker premium discounts
- Re-elect Flexible Saving Accounts
- Complete the Working Spouse Affidavit *
- Add, drop or change your benefit plans
- Add or drop dependents
Online enrollment instructions are on the Ready to Enroll tab. Note that NO paper enrollment forms or written requests will be accepted. This Open Enrollment period is the only time the BenXpress system will be "open" to allow 2014 changes.
* Important Information If You Are Covering a Spouse Under Your Ruan Medical Plan
In 2014, if your spouse has other group coverage available to him/her through their own employer or job and you choose to cover them under a Ruan medical plan, you will incur a Working Spouse Access Fee of $20 per week (or $40 per bi-weekly pay period). This access fee will be added to your medical plan's premium. You may still enroll your spouse in other plan options, such as dental or vision, without the extra fee. Ruan will assume that an enrolled spouse will have other coverage available and, therefore, is subject to the fee. To receive the lower premium, you must complete the Working Spouse Affidavit, which is part of your 2014 Open Enrollment elections.
A benefits letter with online enrollment login instructions is mailed to eligible team members approximately two to three weeks after your start date. You have 60 days from your hire date to review your options and enroll in the program, with coverage effective on your 61st day of full-time employment. Late enrollments may delay your coverage and/or limit your options until the next calendar year.
During the year, certain qualified family events may allow you to enroll in the program or add/drop dependents to your existing elections. You have 30 days from the date of the life event, unless otherwise indicated in the Employee Benefits Guide, to submit your changes.
