Ruan has always been proud to be a part of Iowa. Our families are here; many of our customers are here; our history is here.

 

And, because we believe so strongly that a company must do more than simply exist in a community, Ruan has ensured that its future remains in Iowa as well. We did that by being an early leader in the revitalization of Des Moines: changing the face of the city with the construction of our corporate headquarters, and spurring an economic renaissance, urban beautification and a boom in downtown housing.

 

But our founder, John Ruan, also believed we are citizens of the world. Following his example, Ruan has always been very active philanthropically. We endow the World Food Prize, the foremost international award recognizing excellence and progress in overcoming global food production and distribution challenges. Our team members give generously of their time and money to important local, national and global causes. We are active both in our industry associations  and in our customers' associations and interests. And, we are focused on improving our environment and promoting sustainability efforts for generations to come.
