THE COMPANY: Polaris
THE CHALLENGE: More than 200 suppliers provide parts used to manufacture Polaris products. These suppliers were shipping parts and raw materials directly to each manufacturing facility, creating inventory problems and hurting efficiency.
THE SOLUTION: In close consultation with Polaris, Ruan created the Ruan Consolidation and Distribution Center (RCDC) in Brooklyn Park, MN. Now, instead of suppliers shipping to individual manufacturing facilities, all materials are shipped to the RCDC. Using sophisticated supply chain software, Ruan controls both incoming and outgoing shipments. The result is a predictable supply chain, consistent manufacturing and reduced transportation costs.
