This past October, Ruan corporate team members took part in a 10-day campaign to raise money for the United Way of Central Iowa. The Ruan team collected donations of more than $157,000 during the 2016 campaign. In addition to monetary pledges, team members participated in the seventh annual bake sale. This year, the bake sale brought in a record-breaking $2,034.
The highlight of this year’s campaign was Ruan’s community-wide food drive, Stuff the Truck, which benefited the Food Bank of Iowa. A Ruan truck and custom-wrapped trailer was parked downtown to collect non-perishable food donations. All local businesses and residents were invited to participate in the event, which was sponsored by Bankers Trust and Reames, a subsidiary of the T. Marzetti Company. In total, nearly 23,200 pounds of food was collected!
