Business Systems Analyst

Ruan is seeking a Associate Business Systems Analyst to support production users by resolving business
problems for internal and external customers 

Job responsibilities include learning and becoming an expert with our internal transportation/logistics systems, breaking down large project requests into manageable units and provide excellent customer support to our users. The Business Analyst will follow the Ruan relevant agile methodology for the delivery of the functionality with the following responsibilities:
  • Configure and maintain transportation software and integrated software to support end users.  
  • Respond to production support issues quickly by implementing and verifying fixes to the system(s).
  • Test software and software integration changes and upgrades alongside team.
  • Create user stories/user cases, process & data flows and scenarios to clearly communicate a set of functional requirements to the team.  
  • Escalates issues and work with development teams and/or vendors to identify and implement solutions.
  • Identify and implement improvements and opportunities to meet business unit objectives in smaller, less complex processes.
  • Remain flexible and navigate business changes and priorities.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to untraditional processes and maintain a positive, proactive team environment.
  • Helps evolve the backlog by reviewing and inspecting. 
  • Bachelor's degree required, or an equivalent amount of education and related experience may be considered.  Course of study considered: Business, Computer Science, MIS, or BCIS.  (May have Master's degree but not required).
  • Two plus years of experience as a Business Analyst in an Agile software development environment will have preference. Business Systems Analyst or Requirements Analysts experience preferred.
  • Aptitude to learn internal transportation systems quickly. 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities in previous experiences.  
  • Requires great customer service and relationship building.  
  • Must have a technical background and ability to communicate with software architects, QA analysts and developers.  
  • Must have the ability to multi-task under time constraints and set priorities and accomplish duties with little direct supervision. 
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding in the areas of application development, database, infrastructure and third party systems.   
  • Possesses excellent leadership and organizational skills. 
  • Experience with working on projects in a team environment. 
  • Must be proficient in workflow tools such as; Cherwell or Jira. 
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 
  • Experience and/or knowledge in the transportation industry preferred.  
  • Experience with transportation systems such as TMW and OTM will have preference.
