Managed Transportation Business Supervisor
Responsibilities include managing and leading business functions for our Managed Transportation Operations Group comprised of $30M - $40M freight spend. This position has decision making and P/L responsibility for the dedicated assigned customers. 
  • Supervise and provide leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communications, recruiting, training, coaching, rewarding, developing and succession planning. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 
  • Establish strong working relationships amongst co-workers and other Ruan operations including Integrated Solutions, Transport Terminals and RDAS to leverage capacity, improve service and maximize profitability. Perform functions and support the activity of other operations as necessary. 
  • Develop and maintain professional customer relations via frequent communications to help facilitate a trusted and long term partnership. 
  • Establish carrier and other 3rd party partnerships in support of customer requirements and service expectations. Act as a liaison between all parties providing direction and resolution in the event off a service failure, cargo claims or other disputes. 
  • Create, maintain, and/or analyze customer focused KPI reporting process focused on operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Perform duties of reporting positions as necessary to maintain operational integrity. 
  • Perform other job related duties and special projects as required. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, Logistics, Transportation, Business or related field of study. 
  • Experience: 1-2 years in transportation or logistics industry involving dispatch and customer service.
  • Employee should have knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. 
  • Must have strong computer skills including MS Office (Word & Excel) and ability to learn transportation related software. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and prioritize workload in a multi-task environment.
  •  Must have good customer service, relationship building and verbal and written communication skills.
