Director of Logistics  
Responsible for the overall management, administration, growth and development of various accounts/terminal locations comprised primarily of Freight Under Management (FUM) which may include transactional brokerage, contractual logistics, supply chain management, warehouse and crossdock management and/or other assigned transportation functions. 
  • Supervise and provide leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communications, recruiting, training, coaching, rewarding, developing and succession planning 
  • Develop and implement organizational strategy to achieve operational and financial performance expectations.  
  • Develop and direct execution of Key Performance Indicators targets as measured against customer and company goals. 
  • Direct and monitor continuous improvement efforts for all phases of the supply chain.  
  • Plan and direct the implementation of new systems, processes, and procedures including technology and compliance initiatives. 
  • Build and develop business relationships with both internal and external customers.  
  • Act as a representative of Ruan management team to the customer 
  • Responsible for financial performance.  
  • Implement revenue and cost savings efficiencies.  
  • Oversee asset planning and monitor budgets. 
  • Involved in sales process including promoting growth with existing clients, soliciting new opportunities via prospecting and participating in the sales presentation process
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business or related courses and/or 9 + years transportation/logistic experience in lieu of degree.  
  • 6-9 years previous supervisory experience consisting of development, coaching, and overall management is required. 
  • Experience in a manufacturing or multi-stop transportation environment highly desired.  
  • Direct experience in process improvement using Lean, Kaizan, or Six Sigma methods strongly preferred. 
  • Must have strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite and advanced Excel skills. 
  • Must have customer service/relationship building skills.
