Business Application Architect 

Under minimal guidance, works on medium to large projects that are typically not customer facing, but key to growth in SCS capabilities and scalability.

Carrying out the Company’s organizational values and operating in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies are required functions. Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Lead/works on medium to large scale internal application projects that may involve any of the following:
    • Global workflow/integration development that is leveraged across all customer/operations to support system enhancements and look for synergies to minimize overhead.
    • Application Upgrades.
    • Aid in medium to large-scale transformational change by building communications, education, and continuous feedback loops that engage team members from end users to senior leaders.
  • Administrate the Ruan Logistics Management Software Architectural Review Board to accelerate productivity, create solution synergies, and departmental awareness through the review of all enhancements/changes that require board review.
  • Collaborate to develop a RTMS Logistics product functionality road map for SCS over the life of the product 
  • Provide subject matter expertise and knowledge sharing to internal and external clients, including (but not limited to) reviewing functional workflow, technical execution, task planning, problem solving, training, testing of enhancements and troubleshooting of these system projects/enhancements.
  • May have Product Owner Role responsibilities within SCC
  • Perform other job- related duties and special projects as required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education Course(s) of study: Business, Computer Science, MIS, or BCIS.
  • 3-5 years of experience; Must possess 3+ years of experience with OTM and a deep knowledge of RTMS
  • Must possess 5+ years of experience within any of the following areas:  transportation, business consulting, analysis, strategic planning, process/continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to commit to Ruan’s value statement by acting with integrity in everything we do.

  • Individual must have demonstrated high analytical and problem-solving abilities since they are very critical to the success.

  • Must have excellent communication written and oral and the ability to persuasively communicate ideas to others.
  • Must have documentation and communication skills.  
  • Requires excellent presentation skills.  
  • Must be able to communicate analytical and process information to non-analytical staff.   
  • Job requires documentation of business and data requirements, attention to detail.  
  • Must be able to create, manage, prioritize, and groom a backlog of system enhancements.  
  • Must be excellent at conducting workshops with multiple stakeholders from technology, business and vendor teams, and then concisely documenting their outcome.  
  • Requires good customer service and relationship building.  
  • Must have the ability to multi-task under time constraints and set priorities and accomplish duties with little supervision and direction.
