Our mission is to employ the best team in the industry to move our customers' business safely, efficiently and on time, every time.  Ruan is seeking a Business Analyst to apply Agile principles with analysis experience in order to solicit and document product enhancement requirements from stakeholders. Job responsibilities include breaking-down large project requests into manable, right-sized user stories that can be easily completed by a Scrum team. Provides support for production users by collaborating on requested functionality, troubleshooting issues, and identifying potential solutions.  Escalates issues to application development team or vendors to identify and implement solutions.  As needed, work with Scrum team to coordinate QA testing and implementation. The ideal candidate will have experience and full working knowledge of Agile practices including Scrum and Kanban. 
 
Responsibilities: 
The Business Analyst will follow the Ruan adopted Agile framework for the delivery of desired functionality with the following responsibilities:
  • Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed business systems and processes to identify and implement improvements and opportunities to meet the Business’ objectives
  • Collaborate with Business Partners and IT Stakeholders to recommend system changes, documents business rules, and create “as-is” and “to-be” process flowcharts.
  • Create, refine, and manage user stories and data diagrams to clearly communicate desired features or functionality to the Scrum team. 
  • Configure and maintain transportation software and integrated software to support end users.  
  • Assist, as needed, with the implementation of proposed system changes.
  • Partner with Product Owner to prioritize and refine the Product Backlog.
  • Utilize and facilitate industry standard Agile ceremonies to prepare and maintain user stories for the Scrum team.
  • Remain flexible and navigate business changes and priorities.
  • As needed, test software and software integration changes and upgrades alongside team.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to untraditional processes and maintain a positive, proactive team environment.
     
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, or an equivalent amount of education and related experience may be considered.
  • Course of study considered: Business, Computer Science, MIS, or BCIS.
  • Individual must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving abilities.   
  • Must have strong communication and facilitation skills.  Must have the ability to communicate ideas to others. 
  • Must be knowledgeable and have experience with Agile practices, specifically Scrum and Kanban.
  • The ability to create and maintain user stories is required. Must have the ability to deliver under time constraints and set priorities to accomplish duties with little direct supervision.
  • Must have a technical background and ability to effectively communicate with software architects and developers.  
  • Must be able to effectively communicate business and technical process information to non-technical staff.  Job requires facilitation and documentation of business and data requirements with specific attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding in the areas of application development, database, infrastructure, and client-server architectures. 
  • Possess excellent leadership and organizational skills.  
  • Experience with working on projects with external parties is preferred, but not required. 
  • Must be proficient in workflow tools such as JIRA, Cherwell, and Confluence. 
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint. 
  • Must have 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in an Agile software development environment. 
  • Product Owner experience is recommended, but not required.
