Logistics Business Supervisor – Brokerage
Join Ruan’s extensive brokerage network by establishing a start-up brokerage office supporting Ruan non-asset accounts and working closely with other Ruan operations for support.  Grow an office with profit/loss accountability, people management, and oversight of local sales and operational activities.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Institute strong working relationships within team and across all Ruan stakeholders to leverage capacity, improve service, and maximize profitability
  • Responsible for day to day operations including: building relationships with carriers, seeking new customer business, managing customer expectations, and maintaining key operational metrics
  • Operate team as an extension of our customer networks and manage performance to meet expected service levels with customers
  • Lead and develop employees through performance management, training new team members, and mentoring and motivating employees
  • Monitor freight markets and rates to provide direction to team on target rates for carriers and customers
  • Responds timely and accurately to customer pricing needs.  Negotiate long-term rates with customers and carriers
  • Ensures customer onboarding process is seamless and completed timely
  • Completes and delegates administrative tasks accurately and on-time
  • Act as a liaison for all stakeholders to resolve any issues regarding freight and deliveries with minimal guidance
  • Develop contingency planning with a sense of urgency and provide immediate follow up to all stakeholders
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, Logistics, Transportation, Business or related field of study. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in transportation or logistics industry involving dispatch and customer service.
  • Employee should have knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. 
  • Must have strong computer skills including MS Office (Word & Excel) and ability to learn transportation related software. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and prioritize workload in a multi-task environment.
  • Must have good customer service, relationship building and verbal and written communication skills.
