Logistics Support Specialist
Responsible for providing support to Ruan's non-asset operations including the carrier bid process, capacity sourcing, carrier onboarding, customer startups, cargo claim administration, EDI process, and monthly reporting.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Identify, secure and maintain carrier relationships while working to develop partnerships that best support Ruan Supply Chain Solutions operations.   
  • Source capacity from numerous transportation providers including customer and lane specific focus with geographical concentration.
  • Coordinate and support the RFP (request for pricing) bid process while adhering to set timelines.
  • Support cargo claim administration.
  • Document, monitor and enforce carrier compliance of customer specific service requirements. 
  • Assist operations with standard carrier onboarding process when necessary.  
  • Support EDI setup and issue resolution process.
  • Provide other job-related duties and special projects as needed.
  • Work closely with the carrier and operations to manage the Carrier Aging Reports and resolve any discrepancies according to the customer specific carrier tariff to keep the age range to less than 60 days.
  • Advise the Logistics Pricing team when discrepancies arise between the rate records/offerings entered and the tariff.
  • Coordination between Carrier Audit Report and Carrier Aging Report to ensure all shipments listed on the audit report are not duplicates and confirm shipped as well as and obtain all required missing invoices. (The age range for the carrier audit report should also be less than 60 days.)
     
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience.
  • Course(s) of study:  Logistics, Transportation or Business-related field.
  • Working knowledge of transportation industry, various equipment types and modes, cargo claims, shipping and receiving, practices, quality assurance.
  • Employee must have strong computer skills including MS Office Suite and ability to learn related transportation software.  
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and prioritize workload in multi-task environment.  
  • Must have excellent customer service and relationship building skills.  
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication.
  • Advanced Excel skills (ability to create your own spreadsheet, VLOOKUP’s from multiple tables into one spreadsheet & pivot tables)  
  • High attention to detail; Advanced problem resolution thought process.
