McCarty Family Farms and Ruan Transportation Management Systems today announced a partnership where Ruan will become McCarty’s dedicated contract carrier, providing transportation and logistics support for one of the Colby area’s largest employers.
The partnership will allow McCarty Family Farms to better manage its transportation costs and focus on its core business of providing wholesome dairy products to consumers across the U.S. McCarty Family Farms will be able to lower risk, reduce overhead and costs and have increased reliability with Ruan. Ruan will hire 18 professional drivers along with a terminal manager and office personnel.
“One of our most important functions and greatest expenses we have is delivering the milk to the plant for processing. We needed a reliable partner, and we’ve found this in longtime milk transporter Ruan,” said McCarty Family Farms Chief Operating Officer and DVM Joe Gillespie. “McCarty Family Farms and Ruan are both family owned and share similar cultures. So, Ruan was a natural fit.”
Ruan will transport fluid milk to McCarty Family Farms’ customers on the same routes. Ruan will be able to offer McCarty Family Farms operating efficiencies, route optimization systems, focused attention on safety and regulatory issues, investment in the latest technology, resources for driver education and training and, ultimately, better customer service.
