Mulvenna to Lead Ruan's Western Division


Des Moines, IA - After more than 35 years in the transportation industry and 11 years with Ruan Transport Corporation, Mike Kandris has retired from his role as Ruan's President - Western Division. Taking his place as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Ruan's Western Division is Jim Mulvenna, formerly Ruan's Vice President of Safety and Administration and Director of Training and Management Development.

In his new role, Mulvenna will lead all dedicated contract carriage and bulk food grade operations in the Western U.S., as well as manage Ruan's East-West line haul division.

"Ruan has a great tradition of leading the transportation industry in innovation, efficiency and customer satisfaction," said Mulvenna. "I'm honored to carry on these traditions and continue to find new successes with each client."

Mulvenna's previous experience includes 25 years in the United States Army, where he held various leadership positions as a combat arms officer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from North Central College in Naperville Illinois; a Master of Science degree in Administration from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan; and a Master of Science degree in Strategic Studies from the Marine Corps University in Quantico, Virginia. He and his wife, Tricia, reside in Visalia, California.
