Ruan Puts Tangible Goods into Season's Goodwill

Dec 10, 2008

Des Moines, IA - The season of giving needs a little extra help this year, so Ruan Transport Corporation is hard at work rounding up donations of food, clothing and other household items to share with several charities in Shelbyville, IN. A 53-foot Ruan semi-trailer truck will be located in the Square of Downtown Shelbyville from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday Dec. 12 and Saturday Dec. 13 for donations of food and other items.

"This is a concrete way for the community to come out and support those who are less fortunate this season," says Carl Denny, Ruan's Shelbyville Terminal Manager. "With partners such as the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers and the giving spirit of Shelbyville, we're confident we will collect enough donations to fill the entire rig."

This is the third annual "40,000 pounds of relief effort" in Shelbyville. This year, donations will go to the Hancock Hope House, Wheeler Mission, Shelby County Human Services and the Eagle's Nest Men's Shelter.

"This program allows everyone in the community to do his or her small part that cumulatively makes a big difference," says Denny. "We hope to positively impact our communities in their efforts to recoup and rebuild."

Those who wish to make a cash donation may contact Carl Denny at 1-888-392-7855.
