People First Spotlight: Travis Auch

Jun 21, 2022

Ruan is happy to feature several of our team members across the country in our People First Spotlight. This month, meet Travis Auch, Associate IT Business Analyst, who works at the Des Moines Campus.

Q: Tell us a little about your career path and background.

I started out driving a truck and then transitioned into a dispatcher role. After a few years as a dispatcher, I worked as a Fleet Manager then Shop Manager before coming to Ruan. I was hired as Managed Transportation Specialist three years ago, and after some months of working at Ruan, I discovered an unknown passion for data, systems, and integrations as well as how they were all tied together. At that point, I was offered a chance to move to the Operations Support Services team as a Project Manager to gain more knowledge around these areas. I have recently moved to the Mobility Hardware team as a Business Analyst. When I started at Ruan, I didn’t know that this is where this career would lead me, but I’m happy to continue to learn and grow.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working for Ruan?

For me it would be the ability to get out of my comfort zone and do things I normally wouldn’t get a chance to do. I have been blessed with many opportunities to advance and learn under several great leaders.

Q: What is your favorite memory during your time at Ruan?

The dodgeball tournament as part of the 2021 Des Moines Corporate Games. We had team members from several groups come together to help Ruan take home first place. It was a great example of One Ruan!

Q: What excites you about Ruan’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts?

I am excited to work for a company that has leaders who are dedicated to ensuring everyone has a voice. They continue to grow and offer ways for personal and company growth.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy building and working on things in my free time, and I currently have a few house projects going on. Also, anything electrical or mechanical can keep me busy for days!

Q: In what ways are you involved in your community?

I currently work with the United Way LINC program through Ruan, and I enjoy participating in several sports with the Pride Sports League of Des Moines.
