Jul 14, 2025

On July 9, Ruan proudly hosted the Freedom Drivers Project, the mobile exhibit by Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT), at its Ankeny Operating Center.

TAT trailer Since its founding in 2009, TAT has been dedicated to educating, equipping, empowering, and mobilizing key industries and public agencies to help end human trafficking. Through focused training, strategic partnerships with law enforcement, and national advocacy efforts, TAT enables truck drivers and transportation professionals to identify and respond to suspected trafficking situations. The organization is built on the belief that every driver can make a meaningful difference in the fight against human trafficking and in supporting survivors.

The Freedom Drivers Project is TAT’s impactful mobile exhibit. This walk-through experience brings awareness to the issue of human trafficking through powerful survivor stories, actual artifacts from trafficking cases, and tributes to everyday heroes across the industry. Since its launch, the exhibit has traveled across the U.S. and Canada, reaching and educating more than 74,000 people.

Ruan has been a proud supporter of TAT for many years and is deepening its commitment to this critical mission in 2025. As part of this renewed effort, all Ruan team members were required to complete TAT’s industry-specific training by July 1. This initiative aims to ensure that our workforce is better prepared to recognize the signs of human trafficking and take the proper steps to report suspicious activity.
