Ruan Launches Customs Brokerage Service Line

Jul 1, 2026

Ruan today announced the launch of its Customs Brokerage service, expanding its international trade and logistics capabilities across the United States and Mexico. Headquartered in Des Moines, Ruan now offers integrated Customs clearance, compliance, transportation, and distribution and fulfillment solutions to simplify cross-border supply chains.

Ruan’s Customs Brokerage operates through licensed entities in both the U.S. and Mexico, enabling seamless northbound and southbound freight movement. The company supports clearance across major U.S.-Mexico trade corridors, including key land ports in Texas, as well as ocean ports in Manzanillo and Altamira, and air cargo hubs in Mexico City and Monterrey. In the U.S., Ruan provides nationwide brokerage services across land, air, and ocean.

“Expanding into Customs Brokerage is a natural evolution of our capabilities and commitment to our customers,” said Marty Wadle, Chief Commercial Officer at Ruan. “With this addition, we are helping customers navigate cross-border requirements more efficiently while reducing delays and improving overall supply chain performance.”

The service delivers end-to-end Customs clearance supported by advanced technology, including CBP’s Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and Mexico’s SAT single window system. Ruan’s expertise includes HTS classification, trade compliance, and door-to-door transportation solutions, including asset-based operations, 3PL brokerage, managed transportation, intermodal, and cross-border drayage.

Ruan also supports customers through strategically located facilities across the United States, offering freight forwarding, cross-docking, distribution, inspection, and storage. Customs consulting across the U.S. and Mexico, including trade agreement support, IMMEX program advisory, and specialized compliance projects are also supported.

Operations are backed by industry certifications and security processes, including CTPAT in the U.S. and OEA and OLA certifications in Mexico, along with integrated digital tools that provide real-time shipment visibility. With licensed operations in both countries and an integrated logistics network, Ruan is positioned to support critical trade lanes between the U.S. and Mexico, improving efficiency, compliance, and visibility.

As part of this launch, Ruan will rename its Brokerage Support Services service line to Freight Brokerage. The service itself will remain unchanged.
