Logistics Engineer
The purpose of this position is to improve the productivity, quality, performance and profitability of company operations and service offerings by applying engineering methods and analysis to a variety of business opportunities and problems.
  • Analyze data, determine sample size, and use software tools such as Transportation Modeler (JDA) and Tableau to create solutions that improve both company and customer processes.
  • Identify opportunity, and, create innovative workflows to standardize and streamline implementation process. 
  • Work with all project principals in understanding scope, leading meetings, coordinating work and meeting deadlines.
  • Work alongside Vice Presidents of Operations in sharing financial responsibility for current and new business operations that emerge from engineering/analysis projects.
  • Create analysis summaries, KPIs, new business pro formas and proposal documents for customer presentations and rate submission.
  • Lead customer-facing and internal presentations of completed engineering and design projects.
  • Conduct process analysis and improvement through small team focus groups utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Work with company leaders in leading change management across the organization related to improving performance and profitability.
  • Mentor, review, and approve project results for Logistics Solution Analysts.
  • Evaluate current rate structures and KPI attainment and make pricing recommendations to the pricing team, operations and sales.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 6 - 9 years’ experiencein transportation or business analytics; with a minimum of 3 - 5 years’ in a logistics solution role.
  • 2 years’ experience in a logistics solution role if obtained an Engineering Degree.
  • Must be comfortable in a constantly shifting role, open minded, and look at opportunities through the lens of optimization.
  • Must have strong computer skills including MS Office products (Excel, Access, Word, etc.).
  • Requires strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload in a multi-task environment.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups of people.
  • Requires knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology, labor modeling and yield management.
  • Must be able to work proficiently in supply chain and transportation modeling software such as JDA, Direct Route, Oracle, MaxLoad, TMW or others.
