Compensation Manager
 
The Compensation Manager is responsible for managing the compensation program which includes base pay, incentives, and executive compensation.  This role directs the analysis of jobs, job descriptions, grading and pricing to assign monetary value to each role within Ruan.  This role will oversee governance to the compensation philosophy and make recommendations for pay during various life cycles of an employee.  The Compensation Manager is also responsible for state and federal guideline adherence as it relates to wages including minimum wage, overtime requirements, pay equity and EEO-1 reporting.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in various compensation-related projects which involve revision, development and/or re-design of existing compensation programs. This includes high-level project management, partnering with appropriate internal and external resources, and ensuring that projects are on-time and on-budget, while achieving desired goals and objectives.
  • Conducts and participates in compensation surveys or special compensation studies for purposes of maintaining the company’s competitive position within the marketplace. This may require creation of market-specific surveys, establishment of target audience, communications, data collection, analysis, and feedback on results.
  • Partners with the HRIS team to ensure that appropriate measurements are identified, and data gathered for use by the compensation department. Works to ensure timely and meaningful analysis occurs, and results are reported to management for use in making decisions related to the compensation programs and performance of the company.
  • Oversees development and maintenance of job descriptions for each position within Ruan as well as periodic grading on positions to ensure pricing remains market competitive.
  • Administer annual performance merit increase process for exempt and non-exempt employees. Administer off cycle pay changes related to promotions/demotions, other adjustments.  Administer and make recommendations on discretionary incentive programs.
  • Review and analyze pay structures for drivers paid based on activity.  Maintain data and partner with senior leaders to identify best pay structure to achieve target performance at each location.
  • Oversee and administer federal and state requirements and compliance reporting, keeping up to date on changing laws and reporting requirements related to compensation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
    Course(s) of study:  Business, Human Resources, Finance or Accounting
  • 3-5 years’ experience; Progressive and multi-functional in Human Resources, Finance or Accounting, and/or Business Management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in written and verbal formats.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous requests.
