Continuous Improvement Project Manager
Leads efforts to improve the use of common and consistent processes throughout Ruan’s dedicated transportation operations. Delivers projects that improve operational performance, optimize the use of technology to improve workflow, and create value for Ruan and its customers. Manages new account on-boarding, provides operational guidance and support, and promotes continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Works with project team members and functional leaders to determine business needs, requirements, and timelines; develops and maintains project documentation, analyzes data and implements solutions.   
  • Works independently to manage projects, improve operational processes, and solve problems. Oversees the activities of assigned projects, conducts project team meetings, resolves constraints and issues, and coordinates activities with internal and external partners. 
  • Promotes common and consistent practices within Ruan’s dedicated transportation operations. Provides guidance, support, and training for team members who are involved in the implementation of process improvement projects. 
  • Partners with team members and leaders from IT, Operations, and other business areas to identify and resolve operational challenges, solve problems, and develop best practices relating to the use of technology and various Ruan software programs. 
  • Leads, monitors, and reports progress for continuous improvement and training efforts. Partners with operations staff, project sponsors, and other functional leaders in accomplishing project goals.
  • Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field of study or equivalent work experience.   
  • Prefer at least 2 years of experience in the dedicated transportation or supply chain industry with exposure to project management and process improvement tools.  
  • Ideal candidates will have experience with TMW-based dispatch software or similar transportation management systems. 
  • Candidates must have ability to analyze and document business processes, make effective decisions under pressure, think analytically and be a problem solver by gathering and interpreting relevant data and information. 
  • Understands key performance indicators and how to use data to make effective business decisions. 
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit with a willingness to ‘roll up sleeves’ and work at all levels of the organization,
  • Be customer focused, demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present progress, and possess excellent interpersonal skills to interface with all team members. 
  • Must have strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite. 
  • Ability to travel as needed; up to 20%.
