Brokerage Manager – Otsego, Minnesota
Manages sales and operations of one brokerage office location including P&L accountability.  Responsible for overall performance management, administration, and evaluation of brokerage teams within this position's accountability.  This position is ultimately responsible for business retention, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction for assigned brokerage customers. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and provide leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communications, recruiting, training, coaching, rewarding, developing and succession planning.  
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Implement strategies to achieve all operations sales, and financial expectations for assigned brokerage teams.  Direct execution and corrective action of Brokerage Performance Indicators and targets as measured against customer and company goals.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of assigned operating areas.  Work with manager in completion of annual sales and operating budgets.  Accountable for ensuring operations maintain full staffing in support of annual targets.
  • Increase business and profitability through new and existing customers.  Contact and visit potential new customers.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate RFI and RFP responses and ongoing customer pricing negotiations.
  • Monitor and improve compliance to all Ruan brokerage processes for sales and operational execution.  Aligning and cross-training company and customer requirements across direct reports with associated documents.
  • Create and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers including all levels of Ruan management, direct reports and corporate support staff in order to proficiently operate and effectively manage assigned accounts.
  • Establish carrier and other 3rd party partnerships in support of customer requirements and service expectations.   Act as a liaison between all parties providing direction and resolution in the event off a service failure, cargo claims or other dispute. 
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years’ experience in 3PL sales and operations experience. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience;
    Course(s) of Study:  Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, Business, Finance or related field.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office products and strong computer skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and relationship management skills and demonstrate cooperation and teamwork in accomplishing goals and objectives.  
  • Needs demonstrated expertise in effectively supervising, leading and directing staff. 
  • Must possess the ability to interact, communicate, and motivate with all levels of employees and management through excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must have proven problem-solving skills
  • Needs ability to set priorities and accomplish tasks.
