With a diverse group of customers across multiple industries, our fleet supports various position types utilizing a wide range of equipment.

Dry Van

As the most common trailer type, dry vans are suitable for a wide range of cargo, including packaged food, clothing, electronics, furniture, and more. These trailers typically carry palletized goods or boxed items, making them easier to load and unload than other freight types.

Flatbed

Our flatbed drivers typically haul steel, pipe, and building materials. These trailers allow for the transportation of oversized, bulky, and irregularly shaped cargo. Similar to the flatbed trailers, Ruan transports customer product in Conestoga trailers that feature a sliding tarp system, covering the tops and sides of the trailer.

Tanker

Tanker trailers are specialized for transporting liquids and dry bulk materials, often requiring less manual effort during loading and unloading, which can be appealing for drivers. These trailers are equipped with specialized features such as pumps and fittings designed for managing liquid cargo.

Hazmat

Transporting hazardous materials offers drivers a dynamic change from routine driving, presenting unique challenges and experiences. It requires specific training and certification, enhancing a driver's skills and qualifications. Ruan utilizes hazmat trailers to support customers across industries such as chemicals, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and more.

Refrigerated

Ruan serves customers in the food and beverage, bulk food grade, and dairy industries using temperature-controlled trailers known as refrigerated or reefer trailers. These trailers ensure the freshness and quality of perishable goods during transportation by accommodating varying temperature requirements, making them versatile across a wide range of products.

Straight Truck

Our straight trucks, also known as box trucks, are essential for transporting goods to our dedicated customers in the automotive, manufacturing, and medical industries. With our straight truck positions, drivers can enjoy the convenience of home daily routes and the ease of maneuverability that comes with these versatile vehicles.

Are Ruan trucks governed?

Yes, all of our trucks are governed at 65 mph.

Do you take SAP drivers?

No, we do not accept drivers in the SAP program. Any positive or refused drug/alcohol tests must be outside of seven years.

Where is orientation held if and when I’m hired?

Orientation is hosted virtually. As long as you have access to a reliable device and Wi-Fi connection, you may attend the two-day class remotely.

What are the minimum requirements to drive for Ruan?

Must be at least 22 years or older
No more than three moving violations in the past three years (some restrictions apply)
No more than one DOT recordable preventable accident in the last three years
Additional qualifications will apply
With the Department of Transportation's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse in effect, all applicants must create a profile at fmcsa.dot.gov before being hired
9 months of tractor-trailer experience within the past three years
