This week marks the second annual National Technician Appreciation Week! The American Trucking Associations (ATA), in a conjoined effort with the ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC), designated this week as an opportunity to celebrate the professional technicians who play an imperative role in the trucking industry.

"Professional technicians perform one of the most demanding and critical roles in trucking," according to the TMC. "Considering things like uptime, fuel economy, and overall vehicle performance, maintenance technicians are a vital part of a fleet’s overall safety. This week will not only acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of these dedicated professionals, but also help attract prospective talent to one of the most in-demand careers in the industry.”

Though Ruan traditionally celebrates our own Technician Appreciation Week in July, we are thankful year-round for our technicians, who ensure that our drivers have safe, well-maintained equipment and keep the equipment on the road with maximum uptime, allowing our customers’ freight to be delivered on time. Our July celebration included gatherings at our shop locations across the country, gifts for our maintenance team members, and most importantly, our sincerest thanks for their dedication.

Happy Technician Appreciation Week, maintenance team! We appreciate your commitment to safety, professionalism, and drive to succeed.
