Manager, HRIS
The Manager, HRIS, is responsible for leading a team to oversee the organization's human resource information system, including project management, system configuration, and security maintenance. This position will work closely with teams in Human Resources, Payroll, Operations, and IT to provide leadership, system evaluation, strategic direction, and other analysis for the HR systems. This position will consult with external vendor partners and serves as a key contact for these relationships. This manager will lead a small team in the prioritization of system projects and report progress to organizational leadership.  This position will provide direction and action plans for key improvements including associated metrics. As a member of a broader leadership team, this manager position will collaborate across the business to ensure the HR data needs of the business are met
  • Oversees and maintains optimal function of the organizations HR information system. Provides leadership, planning, project coordination and management of HR applications.
  • Consults with the HRIS and Payroll vendor and with internal IT resources to ensure proper operation of interfaces and integrations, as well as hardware and software requirements. Negotiates priorities and collaborates on support requirements with the IT department, as needed.  Serves as lead representative and liaison between HR Information Systems and external vendors and other stakeholders for HR system design and implementation projects.          
  • Consults with HR, Payroll and business users, including senior leadership and IT to identify needs for enhancements or improvements to existing information system; gathers user input to analyze and address ongoing user needs for HR information; anticipates future needs of the organization.        
  • Plans, coordinates, tests and communicates changes, upgrades, maintenance schedules and new products or services. Builds and maintains positive relationships across the organization and with external vendors to ensure successful delivery of HR and Payroll related information.
  • Leads the adoption of HRIS technology and processes, including development and delivery of end-user training, standard operating procedures and other supplemental materials as needed.  Ensures that system changes are documented, and appropriate internal controls and audit trails are in place.
  • Applies general understanding of Human Resources compliance and laws in decision making relating to HR systems and data delivery. Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in data management and security, HR Technology, and HR applications.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communications, recruiting, training, coaching, counseling, appraising, rewarding, developing, and succession planning.  Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.    
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;
    Course(s) of Study:  Business, Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Strategy, Project Management, or related field.
  • 6-9 years’ experience with progressive experience in Human Resources, Compliance, HRIS, Information Systems, Quality Assurance, Project Management and/or General Leadership.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and large group situations.
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills including coaching, developing others, conflict resolution, team building, and performance management.
  • Moderate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous requests.
  • Ability to influence teamwork and collaborate cross functionally amongst internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
