Enrollment Materials

While reviewing the 2026 benefits information, please be aware of the following:

  • Due to the 2026 payroll calendar having 53 weekly payrolls, all weekly benefit deductions have been calculated based off of 53 weeks instead of the standard 52 weeks.
  • Pharmacy benefits in 2026 will be reintegrated back to Wellmark and it's pharmacy partner CVS Caremark.  For more information on your new pharmacy benefits, go to the Wellmark Pharmacy Benefits listing below.
  • Iowa residents enrolled in the Choice medical plan will now utilize the Wellmark Blue POS network.  Please review the information below under Attention Iowa Residents.
  • Note that Wellmark is rebranding the BlueCard PPO network name and is now referred to as the "Wellmark Blue PPO" network.
  • Team members enrolled in a Ruan medical plan will receive new Wellmark ID cards for 2026 that includes your new pharmacy benefits.  Make sure your local pharmacy has a copy of your new card starting 1/1/2026.

Open Enrollment is the time to review and update your dependent coverage.  If you have any dependents who are not eligible, or are no longer eligible, for benefits (i.e. an ex-spouse, child who is over age 26, fiancé or domestic partner to whom you are not legally married) they must be removed at this time.  A dependent audit will take place in 2026.  If an ineligible dependent is identified at that time, they will be removed from coverage.  This removal will not qualify as a life event, and COBRA continuation coverage will not be offered.  If you are unsure about who qualifies as an eligible dependent, please refer to the eligibility section of the Employee Benefits Guide or contact the Benefits Department for assistance.

Wellmark Pharmacy Benefits

For 2026 your prescription drug coverage will be reintegrated back with Wellmark, creating a more seamless and coheisive experience for members.  Wellmark partners with CVS Caremark for its administration of pharmacy benefits, giving you access to a broad network of local retail pharmacies along with a mail order option.  Note that if you are prescribed a specialty mediation, you must use the CVS Specialty Pharmacy to have your claim covered by insurance.

Attention Iowa Residents — New Provider Network for Choice Medical Plan

Iowa residents enrolled in the Choice Iowa medical plan (formerly known as Choice Savings) will utilize a new provider network called Wellmark Blue POS (Point of Service).  Note this network only apply to those under Choice Iowa; all other medical plans will continue to utilize the BlueCard PPO network.  Most of your questions on this new network can be answered on this list of FAQs: Wellmark Blue POS.

Locating a Wellmark Blue POS Network Provider

To see if a provider is part of the Blue POS network go to www.wellmark.com/finder (do not login to your personal myWellmark portal).  Click on "Individual, Family and Employer" and then next to Provider click on "Find a Provider".  Enter your location via city/state or zip code.  When prompted to enter the 3 letter prefix from your ID card, DO NOT enter this information.  Instead click on "Browse List of Plans" just below the boxes.  Select the Wellmark Blue POS link.  From there you may search by provider name, specialty, location or type.

Do I Need a Primary Care Physician (PCP)?

While it is not mandatory you designate or exclusively use a PCP under the Choice Iowa plan, Wellmark's computer system does require one as part of your member profile.  To add this to your myWellmark.com account, please follow these instructions.  Your covered spouse and/or children may select their own PCP independently from your personal designation.  Note that this part of your Wellmark profile can't be left blank, so if you do not name a PCP Wellmark will automatically assign one for you.  You are NOT required to use the PCP on file and may still see any provider in the Blue POS network without a referral.

Voluntary Benefits
Voluntary Benefits help fill in the financial gaps that may come along with an unexpected illness or injury.  In the event of a covered condition, these plans provide a lump-sum cash payout that is tax free and can be used any way you want.  All voluntary benefits are administered by Voya Financial. https://presents.voya.com/EBRC/Ruan  Note: Voluntary Benefits do not replace your health or disability plans, but are intended to enhance your coverage by offsetting any out-of-pocket expenses your insurance may not cover.

NEW Free Smoking Cessation Program

Are you or a covered dependent a tobacco user and therefore paying the higher tobacco rate on your medical plan?  To help you avoid this added cost, Ruan is now offering a free smoking cessation program through the American Lung Association.  Freedom From Smoking is a 6 week interactive, online quit smoking course that provides personalized support and tools to help you quit.

If you complete the program by March 31, 2026 Ruan will adjust your medical premium to the lower non-tobacco rate and refund the difference back to January 1.  If completed after March 31, the lower rate will apply going forward but no retroactive refund will be issued.  To learn more about the program, please visit www.lung.org/ffs.  To get the required code/link to participate in the program free of charge, contact the Benefits Department at 800-845-6675 option 4 or email benefits@ruan.com.
