Sr. Logistics Specialist
 
Responsible for supporting contractual and transactional based customers by  establishing a variety of transportation providers.  Handles complex issues and provides guidance to less experienced staff.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage the business and service relationship of existing and new customers ensuring their specific requirements are met.  
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to both internal and external partners. Give support and guidance to co-workers as necessary in order to resolve all customer inquires timely and accurately.  
  • Interface with various external companies, such as insurance companies, Department of Transportation, ATA, and other transportation associations.  
  • Work diligently with the Carrier Procurement team  to establish a variety of transportation partners capable of providing numerous modes as necessary to support clients needs.  Update transportation management systems with transportation providers information and assist with managing transportation contracts.
  • Create, maintain, and/or analyze the Logistics Support KPI reporting process. 
  • Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced staff.  Serves as a subject matter expert and/or resource to others.
  • Assist in providing leadership in manager's absence.
  • Perform other job related duties and special projects as required. 
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    Course(s) of study:  Logistics, Transportation, Business
  • 1-2 years’ experience in transportation or logistics industry involving customer service, carrier compliance, and cargo claims.
  • Employee must have knowledge of the DOT rules and regulations.   Must have strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and ability to learn related transportation software.  
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and prioritize workload in a multi-task environment.  
  • Must have good customer service and relationship building skills.  
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups of people.Must be analytical and detail oriented.
  • Prefer experience with OTM/TMW transportation systems experience.
  • Prefer experience FMCSA regulatory compliance.
  • Prefer insurance industry / professional license.
