Logistics Business Supervisor - Brokerage
 
Managing brokerage business functions of non-asset accounts or operation locations which may include transactional brokerage and or contractual logistics. This position has decision making and P/L responsibility for the assigned accounts. 
 

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and provide leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communications, recruiting, training, coaching, rewarding, developing and succession planning. 
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 
  • Establish strong working relationships amongst co-workers and other Ruan operations including Integrated Solutions, Transport Terminals and Ruan Dedicated Asset Support/Backhaul team to leverage capacity, improve service and maximize profitability. 
  • Perform functions and support the activity of other operations as necessary. 
  • Develop and maintain professional customer relations via frequent communications to help facilitate a trusted and long-term partnership. 
  • Establish carrier and other 3rd party partnerships in support of customer requirements and service expectations. 
  • Act as a liaison between all parties providing direction and resolution in the event off a service failure, cargo claims or other disputes. 
  • Involvement with brokerage sales process, new and renewal.  
  • Responsible for timely and accurate RFI and RFP responses, customer pricing negotiations and contract review in order to reduce risk and generate account profitability.
  • Create, maintain, and/or analyze KPI reporting process focused on operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Perform duties of reporting positions as necessary to maintain operational integrity. 
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required. 
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, Logistics, Transportation, Business or related field of study. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in transportation or logistics industry involving dispatch and customer service.
  • Employee should have knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. 
  • Must have strong computer skills including MS Office (Word & Excel) and ability to learn transportation related software. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and prioritize workload in a multi-task environment.
  •  Must have good customer service, relationship building and verbal and written communication skills.
