Supply Chain Optimization Manager
 
Manage a team of optimization specialists responsible for ongoing supply chain network analysis of both existing and potential clients.  Lead efforts to improve the productivity, quality, performance and profitability of company operations and service offerings by applying engineering methods and analyses.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and provide leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communications, recruiting, training, coaching, counseling, appraising, rewarding, developing, and succession planning.  
  • Proficiently utilize Ruan's optimization software and analytical tools to proactively identify improvement areas within customer transportation networks in an effort to reduce cost, increase Ruan's profitability and enhance the partnership.
  • Create and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and various operational teams including DCT & SCS.  
  • Support operational execution teams with implementation of new ideas specific to driving and increasing network efficiencies.
  • Develop and present optimization analysis results to internal and external customers, consulting customers and sales pipeline customers.  
  • Effectively communicate recommendations on how to implement network improvement solutions.
  • Support the supply chain solutions sales staff when pursuing new business including showcasing Ruan's optimization capabilities, presenting sample optimization projects and answering technical questions about Ruan’s systems and technology.
  • Help identify growth opportunities with existing DCT and SCS customers.  
  • Support the creation of marketing materials demonstrating our optimization capabilities.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required. 
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience 
    • Course(s) of Study: Supply Chain Logistics, engineering, business, finance or related field
  • 6-9 years’ experience in Supply Chain/Logistics operations, Exposure to various modes, Experience performing analytical and network optimization activity.
  • Requires strong analytical, mathematical, communication and leadership skills.  
  • Must have ability to perform cost analysis.  
  • Requires proficiency in MS suite with advanced skills in managing large data via relational databases.
  • Must have the ability to learn and work with transportation systems and supply chain/logistics design modeling environments (mastery of JDA platform is preferred).  
  • Basic understanding of DOT Hours of Service regulations and requires a strong Transportation and Logistics background with knowledge around TL, LTL, Intermodal, and Parcel pricing models, order planning models, and execution variables that can impact transportation planning solutions.  
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills & must have the ability to multi-task.    
  • Requires courteous and articulate phone skills.  
  • Must be detail oriented with extreme accuracy. 
  • Must have the ability to multi-task with creative problem-solving skills. 
  • Requires the ability to delegate, set priorities and be accountable to accomplish duties of position with little supervision and direction.
  • Occasional travel (less than 20%) to industrial/manufacturing environments where safety glasses and hearing protection are required.
